INTERCESSORS pt2

The following is a quote by Lou Engle, founder of TheCall and TheSend and a prophet/intercessor to America:

“There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens, and great revolutions for good or evil spring up in the vacuum created by these openings. In these divine moments key men and women and even entire generations risk everything to become the hinge of history, the pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing.”

I (Paul) read this quote 20 years ago and around the same time, I was reading a book by Derek Prince entitled, “Shaping History Through Prayer and Fasting.” Prince’s premise was simple: prayer/intercession, coupled with fasting, releases the purposes of God and shapes the destiny of nations. In 2001, God formed in my heart and mind an understanding of the crucial role of intercession in the fulfillment of His purposes.

The conviction formed in my mind that when God’s people pray and intercede, a powerful incense is “sent up” to God’s throne. Our faithful God then responds by “sending down” divine interventions, supernatural power, and the establishing of His purposes on the earth.

We cannot deny that the decade of the 2020s is a decade of massive change. From the coronavirus to the culture-wars that continue to rage, I’m convinced that this decade will define what our nation will be known as in the next 40 years. Intercessors steps into this “gap”, this “vacuum”, this “door for massive change”, and risk everything for the sake of the purposes of God and the fame of Jesus’ name. Will you be that intercessor? Will you join the movement of intercessors and revivalists that God is raising across the earth so that His power and purposes might be established?

PRAY THIS:
Heavenly Father, today I say YES to being an intercessor. I say YES to being a hinge of history that will open the doors for Your Kingdom to be established on the earth. Partner me with other intercessors from my church and across the city/nation, and raise up a prayer movement in Australia for the purpose of Revival. In Jesus’ name, amen.
